Egil is the Head of Heavy Oil Petroleum Technology for Stat Oil ASP, a leading international energy company meeting the world’s rising energy needs through operations in more than 30 countries around the globe.
Earning a Masters Degree in Reservoir Physics from the University of Bergen in Norway, Egil launched his career with Statoil as Project Manager for Carbonate and Fracture Projects utilizing his education in reservoirs to develop modeling and simulations of sandstone reservoirs. Swiftly advancing to Leading Advisor of Reservoir Technology and three years later to Head of Recovery Processes, Egil was promoted once more to his current position allowing him to embrace and extend his full spectrum of technology expertise in the Heavy Oil Petroleum Division.
Currently, Egil serves as a key player in the development of a global technology center within Heavy Oil to serve Statoil's Canadian assets with technical expertise and technical solutions to projects development, business development and operations. The role of the technology centre is both to share expertice with Canada organisation and to ensure that Canada's heavy oil expertise is made available to the global organization.
